The e-Racer takes its first steps.

For many, the racetrack is synonymous with the thunder of engines. But the future of racing isn't about who's got the biggest roar - it's about who's got the best performance and innovation. What if the most powerful engine was also the most silent? CUPRA knows that true power comes from within, and we're ready to open the bonnet and let the world take a look in.

The CUPRA e-Racer, the first vehicle in total compliance with E-TCR Technical Regulations, has successfully completed its first run on the track in Croatia. With the help of a passionate team of automotive battery experts at Rimac Technology, we tested the e-Racer at various speeds to ensure all four engines provide integrated and calibrated rear-wheel traction. While some e-cars suffer from issues stemming from advanced systems and controls, the CUPRA e-Racer finished its first run with zero incidents. This was the first time a completely electric CUPRA competition car had touched the track - and our first step down the path of redefined racing.

"Our initial uncertainty due to the complex integration of the new electrical systems quickly gave way to optimism as the CUPRA family's first electric car - the first ever fully electric touring race car - completed its inaugural run on the track," said Xavier Serra, Head of Technical Development at CUPRA Racing. "This represents one more step towards our goal of reinventing racing and the racetrack experience."

The CUPRA e-Racer's successful first run not only demonstrated the impressive potential of this "electric machine", but also showed the world that e-racing isn't just a possibility - it's the future of racing. And the e-Racer is here to lead the way.

These solid first steps are just the first of many to come. All electronic systems run smoothly. All four engines are properly calibrated. But we know we are capable of so much more. That's why the CUPRA e-Racer's next stop is the Castelloli Circuit, where we will continue to fine-tune its intricate electrical systems and push it to its full potential. And we firmly believe the CUPRA e-Racer will be more than ready to take on the track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the final event of the 2018 TCR Europe Series this October.

For true lovers of the track, passion for racing isn't something you can see or hear. It's something in your DNA.
